THE GAME: The Dodgers loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning but couldn’t score, finishing with a 2-2 tie against the Chicago Cubs at Camelback Ranch in Glendale Sunday afternoon. The Dodgers have two ties and a loss in their first three Cactus League games.

PITCHING REPORT: Left-hander Robbie Erlin allowed and right-hander Carson Fulmer combined to hold the Cubs scoreless for the first five innings. Erlin went three innings, allowed three hits and walked a batter but also struck out three. Fulmer allowed a hit, walked one and stuck out two in his two innings. … Left-hander Justin Bruihl struck out two of the three batters he faced in the seventh.

The Cubs’ second run scored when Alvarez couldn’t handle the throw from catcher Tony Wolters on a stolen base at third. The runner trotted home.
