FULLERTON — A man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Fullerton on Tuesday night.
The collision was reported just after 6:35 p.m. in the area of 2501 E. Chapman Ave., west of the 57 Freeway and near Cal State Fullerton, said Fullerton Police Department Lt. Tony Bogart.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. His name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin, and it was not immediately known if he was affiliated with the university.
A police statement later said investigators determined the man was crossing northbound across Chapman and the vehicle was traveling westbound on Chapman before the collision near Clarke Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperating with police, Bogart said. Drugs, alcohol and speed were not determined to be a factor in the collision.
