The ninth-seeded Citrus College men’s basketball team beat top-seeded Fullerton College Saturday night, 84-72, to advance to the CCCAA State quarterfinals.
Leonard Turner led Citrus (23-6) with 23 points and Anthony Tello added 19. For Fullerton (25-4), Ronnie Stapp had 18 points and Chazz Hutchison had 10 rebounds in the loss.
Citrus will face West Valley College at 3 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinals at West Hills College in Lemoore. The winner will advance to the semifinal game on Saturday with the championship taking place at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
