Universal Studios Hollywood and Six Flags Magic Mountain will no longer require visitors to show proof of full vaccination or wear face masks as the two largest theme parks in Los Angeles County dropped the last vestiges of COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
Universal Studios and Magic Mountain will no longer require visitors to provide their vaccination status before entering the parks as of Friday, March 4. The Six Flags amusement park in Valencia also dropped its mask requirement for visitors on Friday. Universal eliminated its mask requirement on Feb. 25.

Both parks strongly recommend all visitors regardless of vaccination status wear face coverings indoors — but masks are no longer required.
Los Angeles County health officials dropped a proof of full vaccination requirement on Friday for outdoor “mega events” like Universal Studios, Magic Mountain, Dodger Stadium and the Hollywood Bowl as well as night clubs, bars, breweries and wineries.
Universal and Magic Mountain ended outdoor mask requirements in mid-February when L.A. County health officials ended the mandate for “mega events.”
Both theme parks had required proof of vaccination — with Universal checking vaccination status daily and Magic Mountain only on select “mandate days” when attendance exceeded 10,000 visitors.

Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Knott’s Berry Farm, SeaWorld San Diego and Legoland California dropped pandemic mask requirements in February. California lifted a statewide COVID-19 mandate requiring masks indoors on Feb. 16 as coronavirus cases related to the omicron variant steadily declined.
Local governments were permitted to continue stricter indoor masking and proof of vaccination requirements — with Los Angeles County health officials keeping COVID-19 health and safety requirements in place beyond the state deadline.
