Police are seeking the public’s help searching for a suspect after a suspicious death was ruled a homicide by the Orange County Coroner’s Office, officials said.

Orange County Fire Authorities paramedics responded to Ocean Blue Restaurant, located at 14541 Brookhurst Street in Westminster, around 1 a.m. on Feb. 2 to assist with a call of a man with a head injury,

Hoang Vo, 49, was then transported to a local trauma center and later died on Feb. 14, but the incident was not reported to Westminster police at the time, according to a news release from the department.

The OC Coroner’s Office deemed the death suspicious due to the multiple skull fractures, and after an autopsy confirmed signs of blunt force trauma to the head a few days later, Vo’s death was ruled a homicide.

Initial investigation from detectives revealed Vo was at the restaurant with friends and family to celebrate the Chinese New Year when an argument and altercation with other patrons resulted in Vo’s injuries and death.

Detectives believe there are employees and patrons who may have seen what happened that night.

The reason the incident was not reported to police and the subject of the argument were not available. The investigation was ongoing.
