This week’s Orange County high school girls basketball rankings.

GIRLS BASKETBALL TOP 25

(Records through Wednesday, Feb. 23)

1. Mater Dei (23-5): Monarchs appear headed toward the Open Division for the CIF State SoCal Regionals, perhaps as a road team in the first round.

2. Rosary (16-9): Royals edged Windward without Kaylee Byon (back) to close their section playoffs and stay in the conversation for the SoCal regionals Open.

3. Orangewood Academy (21-9): Spartans beat Bishop Montgomery in their section finale to also stay on the bubble for the SoCal regionals Open.

4. Santa Margarita (17-7): Eagles’ run in Division 2A ended with a 60-48 loss to No. 2 seed Santiago Corona in the semifinals.

5. Sage Hill (22-9): Lightning opened strong at Santa Monica on Wednesday to reach their second consecutive section final and set up a marquee game at Orange Lutheran.

6. Orange Lutheran (23-8): Lancers showed their depth and physical side in defeating Crean Lutheran 72-52 in the Division 2AA semifinals.

7. Fairmont Prep (18-13): Huskies reached the Division 1 quarterfinals with just three seniors on their roster.

8. Pacifica Christian (24-5): Top-seeded Tritons and freshman Addison Deal play at No. 3 Temple City in the Division 4A final Saturday.

9. Crean Lutheran (22-4): Several young players received valuable experience in the Saints’ semifinal loss against Orange Lutheran on Wednesday.

10. JSerra (10-12): Sophomores Jailynn Clayton (18 ppg) and Léa-Line Romain (13 ppg) give the Lions hope for next season.
