PITCHING REPORT: Starter Alek Manoah and reliever Aneurys Zabala combined to give up eight runs in the second inning, with Zabala allowing three home runs. One of those was a grand slam from Tyler Soderstrom after Manoah loaded the bases. … Manoah returned to the mound in the third inning and finished his day with five walks, while allowing five runs with three strikeouts. “Obviously this is one of those (starts) you would rather have in spring training,” Manoah said. “I said last week that I felt a little bit out of whack mechanically, but I feel like we had a really good week of work. … We’ll continue to work and get everything in rhythm.” … Walbert Urena gave up four runs in 2⅔ innings, while Jose Fermin gave up three runs in two-thirds of an inning. … Eight Angels pitchers combined to walk 12 batters.

ON THE CAROUSEL: The Angels played in a spring game with at least 27 combined runs for the first time since a 17-11 loss to the Kansas City Royals on March 10, 2013, at Surprise, Ariz. Albert Pujols, Vernon Wells, Hank Conger and Trent Oeltjen all hit home runs for the Angels. The last time they had a home spring game with at least 27 combined runs was an 18-11 victory over the Colorado Rockies in 2009.
