GARDEN GROVE — Garden Grove police Wednesday were investigating a suspected gang-related fatal shooting of a teen and the wounding of another boy.
The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 12500 block of Sandalwood Lane, off Harbor Boulevard and south of Lampson Avenue according to Sgt. Nick Jensen of the Garden Grove Police Department. The victims were 16 and 17 years old, he said.
One of the victims was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The other victim is expected to survive, Jensen said.
The two were in front of a home hanging out when the suspects walked up and opened fire, Jensen said.
Detectives were working with the Garden Grove Police Gang Suppression Unit on the investigation.
