Mater Dei’s girls basketball team overcame shooting 34 percent from the floor to defeat visiting Redondo 52-45 in a CIF-SS Open Division playoff game in Group D on Saturday.

The Monarchs (24-5) didn’t have a player score in double-figures but held Redondo (17-11) to one of its lowest scoring outputs of the season.

“Gutted it out when things weren’t going well — credit Redondo,” Mater Dei coach Jody Wynn said. “Proud of our group.”

Guards Harmony Golightly and Rachel Goran each scored nine points for Mater Dei.

With the victory, the fifth-seeded Monarchs play at No. 4 Sage Hill on Wednesday in the Pool D final, a berth in the quarterfinals and automatic spot in the CIF Southern California Regional.

The game will pit Sage Hill, ranked No. 1 in Orange County, against No. 2 Mater Dei.

The Lightning extended their winning streak to 20 games with a 74-47 victory against Redondo on Thursday.

In another Open Division game:

Fairmont Prep 63, St. Joseph 51: Sarah Aldeguer scored 20 points with 10 rebounds, freshman Aaliyah Mack had 12 points and 18 rebounds and Lesina Afu added 19 points as the visiting Huskies (17-13) evened their record at 1-1 in Pool B.

Fairmont Prep played without Adyra Rajan (nose) and Mathis Dritz (ankle).

“We are resilient,” Huskies coach Josh Lozano said. “Our tough schedule helped.”

In Division 1:

Orange Lutheran 55, Marlborough 48: Freshman Kynley Calverty scored 16 points and sophomores Kayla Watanabe and Olivia Taleon each added 10 points to lead the visiting Lancers (19-8), who play host to Moreno Valley in the quarterfinals.

In Division 2:

Rosary 63, King of Riverside 50 (OT): Izzy Holmes scored 24 points, including six 3-pointers, and Emalynn Vong had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Royals (21-9), who play at Dos Pueblos in the quarterfinals.

Dos Pueblos beat visiting San Juan Hills 52-45.

San Clemente 72, Rolling Hills Prep 59: Cal commit Kiley Husbands scored 24 points with 13 rebounds and Reese Tremper had 21 points and 11 rebounds to pace the host Tritons (17-12), who play at Crescenta Valley in the quarterfinals Wednesday.
