FULLERTON — The Cal State Fullerton men’s basketball team built a 23-point lead by halftime and cruised past Cal State Bakersfield, 82-66, on Saturday evening for its fourth win in five games.

Landon Seaman had 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting (3 for 3 from 3-point range) to pace the Titans (12-13 overall, 7-6 Big West), who completed a perfect week at Titan Gym. Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro finished with 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals on his birthday, while going 8 for 8 from the free-throw line.

Joshua Ward added nine points and six assists, Kendrick De Luna had eight points and two blocked shots, and Christian Williams contributed seven points, six rebounds and two steals.

Fullerton shot 8 for 15 from 3-point range while holding Bakersfield to 25.7% shooting overall (9 for 35) in the first half to open a 46-23 advantage by the intermission.

The Titans held a 20-7 lead just eight minutes into the game and a 10-0 surge later in the half extended the margin to 22 points. De Luna had a team-high eight points during the first half, when Fullerton scored 13 points off of 11 Bakersfield turnovers.

The Titans shot 42% from the field for the night and finished 11 for 31 from behind the arc (35.5%). They shot 17 for 23 from the free-throw line while outscoring Bakersfield 21-8 on fast-break points and getting 38 points from their reserves.

Ron Jessamy had 19 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocked shots to lead the Roadrunners (8-17, 2-11), who shot much better in the second half (15 for 26) and finished at 39% overall (24 for 61). Mike Price added 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting as Bakersfield lost its eighth consecutive game.

The Roadrunners finished 5 for 22 from 3-point range and 13 for 24 at the free-throw line while turning the ball over 16 times.
