NORTHRIDGE — E.J. Anosike and Cal State Fullerton took care of business with a road win Saturday night and gained ground in the Big West Conference race.

Anosike had 24 points and 11 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season as Fullerton beat Cal State Northridge, 81-73, at the Matadome. Jalen Harris had 16 points for the Titans (16-8 overall, 10-3 Big West), who shot 59% overall. Tray Maddox Jr. contributed 10 points off the bench, and Tory San Antonio had eight points and eight rebounds.

Fullerton is one game behind first-place Long Beach State (15-10, 10-2) with two weeks left in the regular season, while third-place UC Irvine (13-7, 7-3) has won seven in a row and has games against both teams next week.

Anosike, a senior transfer from Tennessee who is in his first season with the Titans, reached a milestone less than five minutes into the game when he scored the 1,500th point of his career on a layup.

The Titans used an 11-0 run to take a 29-18 lead with seven minutes left in the first half but CSUN (7-18, 3-11) cut the margin to 42-36 by halftime.

Fullerton extended their lead to 51-39 less than four minutes into the second half, then a San Antonio 3-pointer capped a 10-0 run that made it a 65-50 lead with 9:46 left.

The Matadors got within 75-67 before an Anosike layup with 2:36 left helped Fullerton regain a double-digit lead. Fullerton controlled things from there to complete the regular-season sweep.

Atin Wright tied a career high with 28 points for CSUN, while Onyi Eyisi added 12 points.
