Whittier Christian on Friday named former El Dorado and Yorba Linda assistant coach Frank Manriquez as its football coach.
Manriguez coached under Jeff Bailey at El Dorado and Yorba Linda.
He is also Whittier Christian’s baseball coach.
The Heralds will play in a new football-only conference for small schools next season and will compete in the third of four tiers.
The Heralds went 2-6 in the fall under fourth-year coach Brett Esslinger.
