The heat came to Southern California on Saturday with record-breaking temperatures in some areas, according to weather experts.
In the Inland Empire, Idyllwild broke a record with a temperature of 75 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The previous record was 73 degrees in 1957. Riverside had a high temperature of 88 degrees, tying the record temperature from 2016.
To the west, Santa Ana hit the same record temperature of 91 degrees from 2015. Anaheim tied its 2006 record of 94.
Meanwhile in Los Angeles, Woodland Hills hit 90 degrees on Saturday, matching a record set in 2016. LAX broke a record set in 1977 with a temperature of 89 degrees. The previous record was 88 degrees.
Super Bowl-day heat Sunday in the Inglewood area was expected to hit 82 degrees.
The unseasonably warm weather will continue through the weekend, and start to cool down beginning on Monday, according to the NWS.
