Craft beer aficionados have a new destination on the horizon as the Brass Tap will open its first Orange County location, readying to pour a roster of local suds in Anaheim Hills. Franchise owner Paavn Patel, who also owns and operates a Brass Tap in Corona, will bring his passion for craft beer to the new spot, saying he hopes the new location will become the quintessential “neighborhood craft beer bar.”

Patel’s journey to franchise ownership started with a love for brewing. “I used to brew at home,” he said in an interview. He was drawn to the Brass Tap, founded in 2007 in Tampa, Florida, because, unlike other franchises, “each location is kind of different, they’re not exactly the same” and allows owners to “put their own thumbprint on it.”

The choice of Anaheim Hills was deliberate as Patel wanted a location that would foster a sense of community and a love of beer. Anaheim, after all, is home to the most breweries in Orange County. “We want to be part of the community, you know, like you will see the same people multiple times a week,” he said.

Patel, who left a career in corporate consulting and marketing, plans to stock the 60 taps with a focus on local brews. “Being in Anaheim and in Orange County, there are amazing breweries all over, so we’ll have a lot of local beers,” he said.

The Anaheim Hills Brass Tap will also feature rotating taps with new beers every few days. Recognizing changing trends, the new spot will also offer “a great wine and liquor section” and a cocktail menu, he said, alongside a menu of “American bar food” like pizza and burgers. It is slated to open November 17.
