HUNTINGTON BEACH — Huntington Beach police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was killed in a traffic collision.
Officers were called at approximately 6:20 p.m. Monday to the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Yorktown Avenue to respond to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a white Chevrolet Silverado, said Huntington Beach Public Information Officer Jennifer Carey.
Police found a woman in the street and she was pronounced dead at the scene, Carey said.
The driver of the Silverado, a 58-year old man from Garden Grove, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, police said.
The collision investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the HBPD Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about is asked to call HBPD Traffic Investigators at 714-536-5670.
