Update: Beach hazards statement issued for Orange County Coast until Wednesday night

On Tuesday at 8:19 p.m. the National Weather Service released an updated beach hazards statement in effect until Wednesday, Apr. 30 at 9 p.m. for Orange County Coast.

“Elevated surf of 4 to 6 ft, with sets to 7 feet expected,” the NWS San Diego CA said. “A 2 to 3 feet swell from 190 to 200 degrees with a 16 to 18 second period will prevail. Highest surf will occur on south and southwest facing beaches.”

“Strong rip currents will create hazardous swimming conditions,” according to the NWS. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
