Reigning CIF State champion University is among the top entries for the 24th National High School Tennis All-American Boys Team Tournament on Friday and Saturday in the South Bay.

The Trojans, a four-time champion of the event, open against Seattle Prep on Friday at Peninsula High at 9 a.m.

If University wins, it faces the Palos Verdes-Iolani of Hawaii winner in the quarterfinals at Palos Verdes High on Friday at 11 a.m.

Last season, University finished second in the tournament to Torrey Pines. The Trojans went on to captured CIF-SS Open, regional and state championships.

The 16-team tournament also features 2023 champion Punahou of Hawaii — which defeated University in the final that year — and 2018 champion Menlo of Atherton.

Santa Margarita is the other Orange County entry. The Eagles open against Menlo at Redondo Union on Friday at 9 a.m.

The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday morning with the championship set for the Jack Kramer Club in Rolling Hills Estates at 2 p.m.

The long-time Orange County-hosted tournament shifted to the South Bay last year.
