Sage Hill girls basketball is the last Orange County team standing this season.
Kamdyn Klamberg scored 21 points and Amalia Holguin had 12 points as the Lightning defeated visiting Brentwood 59-39 in the Division I semifinals of the CIF Southern California Regional on Saturday.
Freshmen Addison Uphoff and Eve Fowler each added eight points for the No. 2 Lightning, whose defense held Brentwood to its season low for points.
Sage Hill (22-11) will be the county’s lone team — girls or boys — in the regional finals Tuesday as it plays host to Windward. The winner advances to the CIF State championship game March 14 at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
Windward defeated No. 1 seeded Fairmont Prep 79-55 in the other semifinal.
Sage Hill will attempt to reach its second state final. The Lightning won Division II in 2022.
In Division II:
Monache 55, Portola 43: Madison Nguyen scored 14 points for the visiting Bulldogs, who trailed 36-23 going into the fourth quarter.
In Division V:
Hillcrest 48, Santa Ana 33: Kalleigh Solis scored 16 points and Kim Perez added 10 for the visiting Saints, who played without point guard Yarexy Diaz (flu).
