A natural gas leak at Anaheim’s GardenWalk led to the evacuation of the shopping and entertainment center on Saturday evening, according to authorities. The leak was fixed after about an hour.
Calls for the gas leak came in at around 8:45 p.m., according to Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Paqua. He said the gas company and Anaheim Fire & Rescue fixed the gas leak by about 9:45 p.m.
Reports from the scene said the evacuation happened prior to a concert by new wave musician Howard Jones at the House of Blues.
Officials at the GardenWalk were not immediately available for comment.
It was not immediately known how many people were evacuated or whether any of the businesses at the center, between Katella Avenue and Disney Way, reopened.
The cause of the gas leak was also not immediately known.
