Fret not: A handful of choice Orange County restaurants are offering takeaway Thanksgiving feasts for those who yearn for neither fuss nor muss this holiday season. From barbecue spots offering smoked meats galore to traditional oven-roasted birds with all the fixings, these spots have you and your gaggle of guests covered.

Be sure to order well in advance; many of these restaurants sell out. Call or place your order online. And, please, consider this roundup a starting point for inspiration — list of reliably good eateries for a great Thanksgiving — and not a comprehensive list.

Bad the the Bone BBQ (San Juan Capistrano): Make your Thanksgiving a smoked-meat bacchanalia with this barbecue joint’s smoked turkey breast feast ($265), smoked whole turkey feast ($285), pit ham feast ($250), pit ham and turkey feast ($295), Mary’s turkey feast ($395) or a BBQ feast ($385). Blake’s Place (Anaheim): Head to this barbecue staple to pick up a whole smoked turkey (12 to 14 pounds, serves 8 to 10 people) for $99.99 or a family feast featuring said turkey, celery, sage and apple dressing, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and whole pumpkin pie with whipped cream for $199.99. Also on the menu is a whole smoked holiday ham (5 to 7 pounds) for $79.99 should you prefer porcine. Bosscat Kitchen & Libations (Irvine and Orange): The take-home dinner at Bosscat costs $195 and feeds up to five revelers. Choose from maple bourbon brined turkey or brown sugar baked ham, sweet potato mash or garlic mashed potatoes, apple or pumpkin pie. Other sides include mac and cheese, cornbread stuffing, green bean casserole, rolls, spiced cranberry sauce, skillet gravy and more. Georgia’s Restaurant (Anaheim and Irvine): Chef and co-founder Gretchen Shoemaker’s Southern soul food eateries will offer sides and pies galore — all you need to do is take care of the turkey. Choose from a bevy of sides, like mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, gravy, cornbread, collard greens and much, as well as Nana Gretchen’s Whole Peach Cobbler and Sweet Potato Pie. All four Georgia’s Restaurant locations (Georgia’s can also be found in Eastville and Long Beach) will offer Thanksgiving Soulful Sides menu for pre-order through Sunday, Nov. 24, and pick-up on Wednesday, Nov. 27. 440 S. Heritage Barbecue (San Juan Capistrano): While the majority of this barbecue joint’s annual Thanksgiving pick-up orders have already sold out, you can still get your hands on Heritage Barbecue’s herb-crusted, bone-in pork roast ($95, approximately 3-4 pounds) that comes with cippolini onion gravy. Available sauces and pickled options include pickled veggies, hot mustard sauce, bourbon barbecue sauce, smoked turkey gravy and charred brussels sprouts. Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern (Dana Point): Pick up a four-course feast prepared by chef and former James Beard Award nominee Nathan Coulon. You can opt for either the roast turkey dinner ($57 per person) or the prime rib dinner ($65), both of which come with apple and chestnut stuffing, candied yams, creamed corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, gravy and a dinner roll. The Kroft (Anaheim): Thanksgiving dinner sets will offer a choice between prime rib or roasted turkey breast, with sizes that can accommodate groups of 4 to 6 ($119 for turkey, $179 for prime rib) and 10 to 12 ($179 for turkey, $279 for prime rib). Sides include au jus, cranberry sauce, spinach dip with crackers, balsamic-glazed brussels sprouts, garlic mashed potatoes, gravy and dinner rolls. Stefano’s Golden Baked Ham (Yorba Linda): While this spot specializes in ham, it offers a full holiday menu for Thanksgiving that includes a roasted turkey breast or whole bone-in turkey with six sides (mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce and green bean almandine for $215.
