English rock band Echo & the Bunnymen are bringing their new wave and post-punk rhythms to Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage on Friday, Nov. 17.

Tickets for the event are $25-$75 and go on sale on Friday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at aguacalientecasinos.com.

Last year, the band celebrated its 40th anniversary with a North American tour that highlighted the band’s 20 Top 20 hits, including “The Killing Moon,” “Lips Like Sugar” and “Bring On The Dancing Horse.” In May, the group also shared the stage with notable pioneer goth and new wave acts such as Iggy Pop, Billy Idol, The Human League and Adam Ant at the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena.

Echo & the Bunnymen formed in 1978 in Liverpool, England, with the original line-up consisting of vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant, bassist Les Pattinson and two years later added drummer Pete de Freitas. In their formative years, the band played English clubs alongside popular bands such as Madness and Bad Manners.

The band developed a cult following after their debut album, “Crocodiles,” and then hit mainstream success in the UK charts with the single “The Cutter,” off of the band’s third album. By 1987, McCulloch left the band and pursued a solo career and after a few member changes, the group officially disbanded in 1993. McCulloch and Sergeant went on to reform Echo & the Bunnymen in 1997 and released the album, “Evergreen.”
