Williams, who led the Monarchs in receptions (46), receiving yardage (775) and receiving touchdowns (12), plans on signing this week. He said Wednesday his four finalists are (alphabetical order) Notre Dame, Texas, UCLA and USC.
Williams will announce the school he signed with on Jan. 8 at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Williams is not the only Orange County football player to use that method; Santa Margarita defensive lineman Hero Kanu will sign this week, Santa Margarita coach Anthony Rouzier confirmed, and will announce the signing at the All-American Bowl.
USC’s coaching change intrigues Williams (6-2, 195).
“For me and what stands out to me and what they pitched to me is the aspect of trying to shift what this culture is there,” Williams said. “They’re trying to emphasize the fact that they’re bring to bring it back to what it was before.”
