A 29-year-old man was charged Tuesday, Dec. 14, with beating his roommate to death with a metal pole in Santa Ana.
Ricardo Antunez Villalba was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon.
Villalba is accused of killing 21-year-old Erik Quebrado of Santa Ana, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Maria Lopez.
The two had been drinking when they got into a dispute about 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in their residence in the 800 block of South Townsend Street, Lopez said. Villalba allegedly used a metal pipe to kill his roommate, according to the criminal complaint.
Villalba’s arraignment on Tuesday was rescheduled for Jan. 5 in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana.
