Casino visitors are not the only ones with a chance to win some cash this summer.
The charity program, All-In 4 Change, by Harrah’s Resort Southern California in Valley Center, is looking for nonprofit organizations in Orange, Riverside and San Diego counties to apply from now until July 31 for the opportunity to walk away with thousands of dollars.
According to to press release from Harrah’s, the casino plans on donation $150,000 total to the nonprofits. This grant program will award 15 winners with $55,000 for first place, $25,000 for second place, $15,000 for third place, $10,000 for fourth place, $5,000 for fifth place and $4,000 for each honorable mention. There is a maximum of 10 honorable mentions.
Applications will be reviewed by a judging committee, and on August 9, eligible applicants will be informed if they’ve made it to the next stage. Community members will then be encouraged to vote for their favorite nonprofits among the group of finalists, with an open voting period from August 15-29.
When the polls close, votes will be tabulated to count for 50 percent of the overall score. The remaining 50 percent of the score will be determined by a carefully selected committee at Harrah’s Resort Southern California.
Winners will be announced at the All-In 4 Change awards luncheon on October 4th, hosted by the property’s mayor, actress Jane Lynch. For more information, go to harrahssocal.com.
