One of JSerra’s top lineman has transferred to Trinity League rival Mater Dei.
Kainoa Davis, a 6-foot-4, 285-pound lineman, has enrolled at Mater Dei, the junior confirmed. He expected to start classes at his new school this week.
Davis played along the offensive and defensive lines last season to help the Lions tie for third in the Trinity League and reach the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals. JSerra lost to Mater Dei in league and the playoffs.
Davis’ highlights from last season show that he was especially active on defense but displayed similar aggressiveness and movement at left tackle. He also played left tackle as a sophomore at JSerra.
Davis was offered earlier this year by FCS Northern Arizona.
Last season, he was a preseason selection to the Hot 150 for Orange County players to watch.
