Each week, publications from the Southern California News Group’s 11 properties (Orange County Register, L.A. Daily News, Press-Enterprise, San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Long Beach Press-Telegram, The Daily Breeze, San Bernardino Sun, Daily Bulletin, Redlands Daily Facts, Whittier Daily News and Pasadena-Star News) select the Athletes of the Week for their respective region.

Each athlete is then entered into the overall Southern California Athlete of the Week vote.

Readers are allowed to vote multiple times. Voting ends at midnight, but final totals aren’t always immediately reflected due to processing.

Audrey Chen, La Salle: Chen helped the Lancers improve their record to 15-0 with a 55-42 win over Saugus in the championship of La Salle’s tournament. Chen was named the tournament MVP. She scored a game-high 20 points in the title game. Chen also had 14 points in a semifinals win over Immaculate Heart. It was the Lancers’ third tournament championship in December.

Emily Eadie, Sage Hill: The forward averaged 13.5 points and 10.3 rebounds, and earned all-tournament honors while playing in the most difficult division of the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona. Sage Hill went 1-3 to place 12th in the Vincent Cannizzaro Division.

Jordin Blackmon, Bishop Montgomery: Blackmon was selected tournament MVP as the Knights won the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions. She averaged 14.3 points in wins over Pacifica, Westlake and Redondo.

Carrington Davis, Rialto: Davis, a 5-foot-10 guard, averaged 29.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals last week to help the Knights advance to the championship game of the Serrano Holiday Classic. She opened the tournament with 24 points, nine rebounds and three steals in a win over West Ranch. Davis matched a career high by scoring 35 points in a victory over Serrano, and she added four assists and four steals in that game. Davis is averaging 24.2 points and 2.9 steals per game this season.

Leila Boykin, Alemany: Boykin helped Alemany win the Nike Tournament of Champions last week in Phoenix, Ariz., by averaging 12.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. The Warriors are 8-4 this season.

Sydney Trump, Millikan: The senior striker scored the game-winning for Millikan in a 1-0 victory against rival Wilson on Thursday, Dec. 22. The Rams are in sole possession of first place in the Moore League with wins against Cabrillo, Lakewood, Compton, Long Beach Poly and Wilson. Millikan has outscored its Moore League opponents 31-0 this season.
