Kory Minor is no longer the football head coach at St. Margaret’s, he announced Tuesday.

Minor coached the Tartans for five seasons.

His departure, Minor said, was “a little bit of both” when asked if it was his decision or the school’s decision.

“There are possibly big opportunities out there for me,” said Minor, who turns 46 on Wednesday.

St. Margaret’s this past season finished 5-7 overall and in third place in the Orange Coast League (4-2 league record).

The Tartans defeated Segerstrom in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 11 playoffs and lost to South Pasadena in the quarterfinals.

St. Margaret’s in 2021 lost to Colony in the CIF-SS Division 9 championship game.

“In those six years I think I’ve done all I can do over here,” Minor said. “We made some great changes on and off the field.”

Minor was an NFL linebacker for four seasons. He also played at Notre Dame and Bishop Amat High.
