Breeze Airways adds destinations from OC ahead of starting service in February

About a month after announcing it would begin serving OC in early 2023, low-fare carrier Breeze Airways says it is adding more destinations from John Wayne Airport.

In addition to nonstop flights to Orlando and Provo, Utah, starting Feb. 16, the airline launches service in late March to Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; Pittsburgh; and Providence, Rhode Island. (The Providence route will have one layover stop, but passengers won’t have to change planes.)

The company announced the new routes in a news release Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Breeze — which started operating in 2021 — offers three levels of fares, from a no-frills basic seat to first class, which includes priority boarding, a drink and snack on the flight and up to two checked bags. But even the lowest-priced tickets can be changed or canceled with no fees up until 15 minutes before departure, and families don’t have to pay extra to sit together.

Breeze is the third new budget airline to start service in Orange County in the past few years. Spirit Airlines came to JWA in 2020, and Allegiant Air and Sun Country Airline were given slots at the airport last year.
