A Huntington Beach police motor officer was injured in a collision in Long Beach on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Just before 2:30 p.m., the on-duty motorcycle officer was driving along Bellflower Boulevard, near the Atherton Street intersection by the Cal State University Long Beach Campus, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The motorcycle collided with a sedan, injuring the officer.

He was taken to a hospital and was reported to be stable, according to Jessica Cuchilla, a spokesperson for the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and was cooperating with authorities. The intersection remained closed in the afternoon while authorities continued their investigation.
