A large fire broke out in a San Juan Capistrano commercial building around 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, authorities said.
The blaze, which was described as “well-involved,” was reported at 7:51 on the 3200 block of Calle Perfecto, according to Orange County Fire Authority spokesperson Capt. Sean Doran.
The fire was upgraded to a third-alarm fire shortly before 8:30 p.m., and approximately 80 firefighters were at the scene. It appeared the impacted building was home to Prestige Collision South, an auto body shop.
No injuries were reported, Doran said, but there was potential for building collapse due to the “heavy fire involvement.” The blaze and heavy smoke could be seen from the 5 freeway.
It was not immediately clear what started the fire, Doran added.
