A passenger in a Tesla was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a fiery crash early Friday in Garden Grove.
The three-vehicle collision was reported shortly before 12:45 a.m. at the Garden Grove Boulevard and Magnolia Street intersection, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.
Officers arrived to find the Tesla sedan engulfed in flames, according to police. A passenger in the Tesla was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police said the driver was speeding prior to the crash and is expected to be arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
The driver of another vehicle was also taken to a hospital in critical condition. No descriptions were released of the other vehicles or exactly how the collision happened. Nor did police release the name of the Tesla driver.
