Huntington Beach junior Makenzie McRae had the fastest time among girls runners Saturday in the Laguna Hills Invitational cross country meet at Laguna Hills High.
McRae completed the 3-mile course in 17 minutes and 22.8 seconds to win the Junior Girls Division 1 race by more than a minute.

Holly Barker of Laguna Hills won the sophomore girls race in 17:28.50, which was more than 90 seconds better than the second-place finisher.
Jayden Hernandez of Godinez was victorious in the boys juniors race at 15:29.70. Jimmy Dominguez of Santa Ana won the boys senior competition at 15:42.70. Uriel Rosete of Newpor Harbor won the boys sophomore race at 16:29.80.
Matthew Nguyen of Tustin won the boys freshman contest at 16:42.60.
The next major meet in Orange County is the Woodbridge Classic at Great Park in Irvine, Thursday and Friday.
