The Giants are going to kick it old school for two games this season.

The G-Men announced Wednesday they’d be donning their classic ‘80s and ‘90s red-and-white-trimmed uniforms, and the accompanying “GIANTS” helmets, for two games at MetLife: Week 4, Oct. 2, vs. the Chicago Bears and a Week 13, Dec. 4, divisional matchup with the Washington Commanders. The Giants beat both teams during their Super Bowl XXI and Super Bowl XXV runs.

In a hype video announcing the news posted on the team’s website, running back Saquon Barkley sits at his locker room stall and puts on fuzzy headphones connected to a Walkman. As clips from the team’s past play over a steady beat, a limousine pulls up to the stadium, revealing Lawrence Taylor as its passenger.

“I’m back,” Taylor says.

Taylor then delivers one of the classic jerseys to Barkley.

The video ends with Barkley, Leonard Williams, Xavier McKinney, Blake Martinez, Azeez Ojulari, Andrew Thomas and Daniel Jones sporting the classic threads.

The team also said the two Legacy Games would feature re-designed endzones that recreate the Super Bowl XXI style.

In a statement, co-owner John Mara said the uniforms are coming back by popular demand.

“This era obviously still holds a special place in the hearts of Giants fans,” Mara said. “Our teams during that time featured legendary players, some of the best in our franchise’s history. And these uniforms remind us of what was accomplished through those years. We are thrilled to wear that uniform again.”

The news set off plenty of enthusiasm from former players on social media.

“So jazzed to have the Classic Big Blue uniform back,” franchise rushing leader Tiki Barber said on Twitter.

“THEY’RE BAAAAAACK!! I I am *SUPER* excited that the Giants are wearing this uni this season,” linebacker Carl Banks captioned a photo of himself from his playing days.

The Giants previously wore the uniforms, and “GIANTS” helmets from 1980 to 1999 before they began wearing their current “NY” helmets.
