Bounty hunter Boba Fett and the mercenary Fennec Shand will join the cast of characters walking around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland on Saturday, May 28, Disney officials announced at Star Wars Celebration 2022 in Anaheim on Friday.
And that’s not all: Later this year, Din Djarin, also known as the Mandalorian, and Grogu, also known as “the child” — or, let’s be real, Baby Yoda — will also be coming to Disneyland as live characters.
The announcements came during the panel titled “From a Galaxy Far, Far Away to a Disney Park Near You” on Friday afternoon at Star Wars Celebration at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The new characters all have found fans and fame thanks to the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett.”
Boba Fett, played by Temeura Morrison, and Fennec Shand, played by Ming-Na Wen, are partners of a kind in the shows. According to the Disney folks, they will attempt to “remain in the shadows around Black Spire outpost,” as, you know, bounty hunters and mercenaries are wont to do.
“Now guests will be able to share an untold part of their story that takes them to the planet Batuu and Black Spire Outpost,” a Disney statement read in part.
No date was announced for the debut of Din Djarin, the Mandalorian, and Grogu, the child, beyond that they will arrive at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at a later date.
