A Porsche driver and a pickup driver were killed in separate collisions in Orange on Friday night.
At around 9:50 p.m., a Honda Civic with two occupants was stopped at a red light at Collins Avenue, preparing to turn north onto Glassell Street, when a Dodge Ram rear-ended the Civic, according to Orange Police Department.
The pickup driver was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. The man and woman in the Civic had what were described as minor injuries.
The second collision occurred just before 10:30 p.m. at Tustin Street and Taft Avenue. The driver of a Porsche was stopped at Taft Avenue — which mergers into Briardale Avenue — preparing to turn south on Tustin Street.
The light turned green, and the Porsche proceeded into the intersection when a Kia Sol driven by a man heading north on Tustin Street sped through a red light and collided into the Porsche in the intersection.
The driver of the Porsche, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Drugs are suspected to be a factor for the Kia driver, Orange police said.
The victims in both crashes have not been identified pending notification of family.
Anyone with information on the crashes can contact the Orange Police Department at 714-744-7444.
