“Love Can Build a Bridge,” the 1990 hit by the Judds, was on fans’ minds Saturday when news broke of matriarch Naomi Judd’s death at 76.
Maren Morris, who performed Friday, April 29, at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, tweeted, “Rest In Peace, Naomi Judd. Honored to have witnessed ‘Love Can Build a Bridge’ just a few short weeks ago.”

Carrie Underwood, the headliner who will close the show on Saturday, April 30, also took to Twitter, saying, “Sing with the angels, Naomi.”

The announcement of Judd’s death was made Saturday by daughters Wynnona Judd, 57, her singing partner, and actor Ashley Judd, 54.
“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”

The Judds, Naomi and Wynonna, were set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday, May 1.
Colleagues taking to social media included Travis Tritt who called Naomi Judd “one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known.”
