Dan Albano’s Diamond Club outstanding softball players last week, April 11:

Justice Alcaraz, Mater Dei, Jr.,  P: Alcaraz struck out 12 in a 2-1 victory in 10 innings against Orange Lutheran and struck out four in a 5-1 win against Santa Margarita to help the Monarchs remain tied for first place in the Trinity League.

Eva Hurtado, JSerra, So., P: Hurtado allowed two earned runs in eight innings and struck out seven in a 5-4 win against Rosary to keep the Lions tied for first place in the Trinity League.

Courtney Kols, Fountain Valley, Fr., P: Kols fired a five-hitter in a 9-0 win against Newport Harbor to keep the Barons undefeated in the Wave League.

Taylor Shumaker, Esperanza, So., CF: The leadoff hitter had two doubles, a triple and scored a run in a 2-0 win against then-No. 1 Canyon as the Aztecs improved to 3-0 in the Crestview League.

Marissa Rodriguez, La Habra, Sr., P:  The Eastern New Mexico-bound Rodriguez fired a six-hitter and struck out seven in a 5-0 victory against Sonora to help keep the Highlanders in first place in the Freeway League.
