The runners were spirited to say the least.

In race after race, finishers flashed happy smiles at the 38th Newport Spirit Run, having a fun day in the sun. The event held at Fashion Island featured a variety of running lengths and age groups, including a dash just for dogs and their humans.

And it was all to raise money for local schools and youth groups.
