Medical assistant might be a hard job for a youngster to put their mind around, but coloring in the parts of a human body and being able to reach out and move the arms and legs of a skeleton puts it in a perspective they get.

That’s what Santa Ana College’s KinderCaminata is about, getting the youngest of students thinking about future career paths and college opportunities in a way they can get excited about and have a little fun with.

More than 1,000 Santa Ana Unified School District kindergartners were on campus Friday, visiting career stations introducing them to nursing, theater arts and a whole host of other futures with hands on exhibits and demonstrations to pique their interest.

Following their exploration of careers, the kindergartners marched through campus, chanting “Sí, se puede, Yes, you can,” on their way to lunch and a show.
