Santa Margarita, Newport Harbor and Ocean View received top seeds for the CIF Southern California Regional in girls soccer.
For the first time, the regional will send its winners from five divisions to the inaugural CIF State championships at Natomas High in Sacramento, March 13-14.
Santa Margarita (17-1-5) is seeded first in Division I after defeating Mater Dei 3-0 in the CIF-SS Open Division final.
The Eagles open the single-elimination tournament Tuesday by playing host to Roosevelt, the Division 1 section champion.
No. 2 seeded Mater Dei (14-3-8) plays host to San Marcos in another first-round match Tuesday.
Newport Harbor (17-6-5), the Division 1 runner-up in the section, and Ocean View (13-7-3), the Division 6 runner-up, are seeded first in Division II and Division V, respectively.
Division 6 champion Segerstrom is slotted eighth in Division IV and opens Tuesday at Birmingham, the Division I champion in the LA City Section.
