As the United States turns 250, experience a reenactment of some of the events that helped win the American Revolution.

The Huntington Beach Historical Society is hosting a weekend of living history, with historians and storytellers bringing the revolution and fight for American independence to life. The event concludes Sunday, March 8.

There will be battle reenactments at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday, and you can also see artillery and drilling demonstrations, learn how an 18th-century woman would dress and kids can spy for Gen. George Washington. There are programs on the Declaration of Independence, Native American life and France and Spain’s role in the war.

Wander a replica town square, visit the Royal Navy Camp and more.

When: Activities start with a 9 a.m. church service that is open to the public Sunday and end with the 2 p.m. battle.

Where: Huntington Beach Central Park, behind the library on Gothard Street between Slater and Talbert avenues
