Parlor Doughnuts opens new Orange County location

Rent Computer Hardware You Need, When You Need It

Parlor Doughnuts is officially on a roll. Figuratively speaking.

After debuting in Laguna Niguel in January 2025 and adding a spot in Huntington Beach just last month, the chain opened its third Orange County location this past Saturday, Feb. 7. You can now find its famous layered treats in San Clemente at 104 N. El Camino Real, taking over the site formerly occupied by Choice Juicery.

Since its 2019 start in Indiana, Parlor Doughnuts has gone viral for its modern take on the doughnut. Unlike your standard airy, glazed ring, these are irregularly shaped, crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside.

With more than 100 locations nationwide (and five now in California), the chain boasts a menu of 20-plus flavors, including Honey Glazed, Cookies and Cream, Blueberry Hill and Maple Bacon, to name a few. Parlor also caters to those with dietary needs, offering keto-friendly and gluten-free options.

If you prefer salt over sugar, the San Clemente location is expected to start selling Parlor’s new savory doughnuts at the end of March. Flavors might include such iterations as Chicken Bacon Ranch, OG Pepperoni, Pig & Fig and more.

The new San Clemente outpost is owned and operated by Hunter Nodine, Noah Hayden and Josiah Hayden.

If the “layered” idea sounds familiar, there’s a reason why: Its advent traces back to 2013, when chef Dominique Ansel created the Cronut at his namesake bakery in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. By using laminated croissant dough, he created a flakey (and trademarked) sensation that helped change the dunker world.

But you don’t have to trek 2,800 miles to see what the fuss is about; Parlor offers its own tasty approximation that stands on its own.

Hours of operation are Sunday-Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Wednesday-Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.
