Noteworthy: Sanchez was named Lower Weights MVP at the CIF Southern Section Northern Division Championships on Saturday after winning a CIF-SS title for the second year in a row. Sanchez, wrestling at 120 pounds, won all five of his matches by fall or by technical fall. He pinned his final-round opponent just 46 seconds into the match. Sanchez will compete in the CIF-SS Masters Meet on Friday at Sonora High.
