OCVarsity will be keeping track Wednesday — known as National Signing Day — of the Orange County high school athletes who officially sign a binding agreement with a collegiate program.

It’s a day of celebration for athletes and their families, as well as their teams and schools.

National Signing Day has evolved over the years and underwent a major change in 2024 when NCAA Division I programs stopped using the NLI (National Letter of Intent) system. Athletes now sign a “financial aid agreement.” (The NLI is still used in Division II.)

Athletes from all sports, except basketball, and who are seniors (Class of 2026) are eligible to sign at this time.

To add an Orange County athlete’s name to our list, please send the details (name, school, sport and college) to preps@ocregister.com by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4.
