Charlie Brown, Lucy and Pigpen won’t have to move out of Camp Snoopy after the parent company of Knott’s Berry Farm extended its long-term partnership with the Peanuts gang and put to rest speculation of a Looney Tunes takeover.

Six Flags Entertainment announced on Wednesday, Sept. 10 that it had agreed to a five-year extension of a licensing agreement with Peanuts Worldwide through Dec. 31, 2030.

Under the deal, Six Flags remains the exclusive amusement park partner for Peanuts in North America.

Peanuts characters will continue to make appearances in Camp Snoopy or Planet Snoopy themed lands at Knott’s Berry Farm, California’s Great America, Cedar Point, Canada’s Wonderland, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Dorney Park, Michigan Adventure, Valley Fair and Worlds of Fun.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair merged in 2024 in a $8 billion deal that created a North American amusement park juggernaut.

The Buena Park theme park opened the first Camp Snoopy in 1983 and the Peanuts partnership was extended to other parks in the former Cedar Fair amusement park chain.

Legacy Cedar Fair parks continued to upgrade Peanuts themed lands with new attractions during and after the merger.

Knott’s added a new family coaster and super-sized kids swing in 2024 during a seven-month makeover of Camp Snoopy.

Kings Island added Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers roller coaster and a kids playground in 2024 to a new Camp Snoopy area at the Ohio amusement park.

Carowinds added a new launch roller coaster, raft ride and splash play area to Camp Snoopy earlier this year in the largest investment in the North Carolina park’s history.

The Sandusky Register stoked speculation that the hometown Cedar Point and other Six Flags parks might drop the Peanuts partnership in favor of the Looney Tunes contract that extends through 2053.

The newly merged company ended up with two kid-centric intellectual properties under a pair of long-term deals that stretched back to the 1980s — tying Peanuts to Cedar Fair and Looney Tunes with Six Flags.
