DENVER — The Dodgers seem to field a team of All-Stars every night. Voters agreed.

Phase 1 of voting for this year’s All-Star Game ended Thursday and Shohei Ohtani led all National League players in votes. That gives him an automatic spot in the starting lineup for the July 15 game at Truist Park in Atlanta.

It will be Ohtani’s fifth consecutive All-Star start at DH.

But seven of his teammates also received enough votes to advance to the second phase of voting as finalists at their positions. The top two vote-getters at each position advance.

That group includes Freddie Freeman at first base, Tommy Edman at second base, Max Muncy at third base, Mookie Betts at shortstop and Will Smith at catcher. Teoscar Hernandez and Andy Pages are two of the six finalists in the outfield.

Smith and Freeman led the voting at their positions.

The second phase of voting begins on Monday at 9 a.m. PT. Voting can be done online at MLB.com/vote, all 30 club websites, the MLB app and the MLB ballpark app. Vote totals from Phase 1 do not carry over and voting closes on Wednesday with the winners being announced on ESPN at 4 p.m.
