The 2025 Kia EV9 has been named Edmunds Top Rated 2025 Electric SUV, the second year in a row Kia’s game-changing sport utility vehicle has captured the prestigious honor.

The EV9 was one of six vehicles recognized in Edmunds 2025 Top Rated awards, which were announced Jan. 22 after being selected through rigorous independent testing. Edmunds drives, tests and evaluates more than 300 vehicles every year to come up with winners in six distinct categories.

Praised for its outstanding combination of utility, value and spaciousness, the EV9 once again impressed Edmunds experts, cementing the vehicle’s status as a benchmark for excellence among electric SUVs.

“Kia has hit the sweet spot with a three-row family SUV that combines a great driving experience with a spacious, versatile cabin,” said Alistair Weaver, Edmunds editor-in-chief. “The quality and attention to detail are truly outstanding, bettering vehicles costing thousands more.”

Steven Center, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Kia America, said the latest recognition “highlights the EV9’s excellence and reinforces (Kia’s) commitment to delivering innovative and world-class EVs.”

The EV9 stands out with its “Opposites United” design, blending nature and modernity, Kia America said in a news release. The vehicle features a roomy interior, ample cargo space, towing capability, top-notch driving dynamics, premium materials and fast charging.
