How can the city best meet the demand and mandates for more housing, including at lower prices, while also preserving the quality of life for existing neighborhoods and residents? (Please limit your answer to 200 words or less.)

I would push for updating our zoning laws to allow for more diverse types of housing. Help implement policies that incentivize the development of affordable housing. This could include tax breaks, grants or reduced fees.

California is working toward achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2045. Where does climate change fall in your list of priorities? How, if at all, would you address this as a councilmember? (Please limit your answer to 200 words or less.)

I would work with state and federal agencies, local businesses and non-profits to secure funding and support for climate initiatives and ensure alignment with broader climate goals. Facilitate community education and outreach programs to raise awareness about climate change and encourage residents to adopt more sustainable practices. It’s what needs to be done for future generations.

How should the city balance paying off debts, such as pension liabilities, and building reserves all while meeting residents’ needs? Should a solution involve finding new revenue, trimming the budget, or something else entirely? (Please limit your answer to 200 words or less.)

For a smaller city like Stanton, it definitely has its challenges. All options need to be looked at from pension reform and cutting spending to increasing revenues without raising the taxes. Stanton really needs to look into building the city up, incentivizing businesses and builders.

In your opinion, what is the biggest need your city faces, and how would you address it? (Please limit your answer to 200 words or less.)

Stanton needs to focus on attracting new businesses, supporting local entrepreneurs and improving infrastructure. Invest in our future from our roads, parks and public spaces. Cleaning our streets up from top to bottom from the rampant prostitution, drug use and homelessness.

Why would you make a good leader, and how would you represent the diverse communities of your city? (Please limit your answer to 200 words or less.)

I know I would make a great leader for the city of Stanton residents. For one I’m not a politician. I’m just a blue-collar worker. I would prioritize actively listening to residents from all backgrounds to understand their unique needs and perspectives.
