Chino Hills State Park offers 14,000 acres of wilderness untouched by development, with abundant flora and fauna to enjoy.

And at the park’s entrance from Brea, there is the Discovery Center to help visitors learn all about the wildlife that makes the hills home and the natural beauty that can be explored.

On Saturday, the center’s 10th anniversary was celebrated with a day of speakers and activities. The center opens daily at 8 a.m. with the help of volunteers, offering displays on the ecology and wildlife of the park and educational activities. There is also a native flower garden.

Chino Hills State Park features a web of 19 hiking and biking trails that span some 90 miles and there are picnic areas and more than 20 campsites.

The entrance from the Chino Hills side is 4721 Sapphire Road and from the Brea side, with the Discovery Center, is 4500 Carbon Canyon Road.  The park is open until 5 p.m. daily through March and then 7 p.m. during the spring and summer.
