The eastern portion of Buena Park’s downtown shopping center was closed Monday, July 29, as 106 firefighters worked to put out a heavy four-alarm fire at Big Air Trampoline and Adventure Park, the Orange County Fire Authority said.
It was unclear if the business, located at 8320 On the Mall, was open when the fire began around 11:49 am. The fire may have started inside a ball pit, before decking in the surrounding area caused the flames to spread underneath, making it difficult to put out, Capt. Robert Reid said.
“It’s deep seated and it’s stubborn but it’s not that big,” Reid added. “It’s taking a lot of personnel to be able to extinguish it.”
No injuries were reported. The eastern portion of the mall had temporarily closed while the western half, which hasn’t been affected by the heavy smoke, remained open for business.
